How fast are we to attach ourselves to the things and people in our lives in which we think our worth is attached to? How fast are we to attach ourselves to outside objects that we feel complete us, forgetting our wholeness in the process?
Like a lover not good for you but you hold on so tight because you think they validate your ability to be loved. So you stay to prove that you too can be loved.
Or how strong we hold unto our habits because we think that we just can’t change? We tell ourselves, “Ive always been this way…I’ve tried everything…It’s not that bad…I’ll do it later…I’m going to wait until I get a promotion/lose weight/until this (event) is over/(insert_some arbitrary time in the future here). In these cases we have either given up on ourselves or have placed the responsibilities of action taking unto some future version of ourself that does not exist.
So we remain intertwined with the object we hold on with:
our entire selves
our hair
our fingertips
our thoughts
our beliefs
our mindset
To cling to, to hold unto something, is to forget the magnitude of your innate greatness, the power of yourself, the beauty of your divinity and the magic in you to create whatever it is that you want to create.
In a way there is a certain beauty in the clinging, because when you finally let go and finally find yourself (for the first time or again) it is as if your entire soul smiles because it says, “There I am. Complete in myself. Welcome home”.
What are you holding onto?
What are you afraid to release?
What have you tried and given up on yourself for and now you cling to the person you think your destined to be?
